The 6,000-mi (9,654-km) Central Gas Pipeline may soon be up for sale by Tulsa-based Williams, in an effort to boost its balance sheet. The 2.3 Bcf/d Central system transports natural gas from Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas, Wyoming and Colorado.

The company has been restructuring since December, and had announced plans to raise cash through equity and other securities offerings, asset sales and reducing its spending. In early July, the company announced plans to sell its Kansas natural gas gathering system for $100 million.
