New regulations are going to generate an enormous volume of data for the midstream, and companies’ ability to collect it, gather it, use it, analyze it, and run statistics on it will be a major system integrity challenge for the sector, said Ed Wiegele, oil and gas sector president for TRC Cos.
Wiegele also said he believes that discussions concerning PHMSA’s Megarule are promising and that the regulatory environment as a whole is more open under the Trump administration.
