It was expected that ethane demand from petrochemical producers would be down much of the first half of this year due to the scheduled turnaround for many of the Gulf Coast’s ethane crackers. What wasn’t expected was that when these facilities came back online in May and June that demand would remain stagnant, but that is what happened.
