The National Energy Technology Laboratory (NETL) issued a Notice of Availability of Financial Assistance Solicitation. The "Development of Technologies and Capabilities for Natural Gas Infrastructure Reliability" - Financial Assistance Solicitation No. DE-PS26-02NT41446 - supports the natural gas infrastructure reliability product line, part of the U.S. Department of Energy's (DOE's) Strategic Center for Natural Gas.
The solicitation, issued March 5, seeks to share costs for applications for energy research and development activities that promote the efficient and sound production and use of fossil fuels, including coal, gas and oil. the solicitation's main goal is to maintain and enhance the integrity and reliability of gas transmission and distribution pipeline infrastructure - not pipeline expansion projects.
Potential applicants must submit a preapplication of seven pages or less to the DOE. Comprehensive applications will not be considered unless a preapplication is approved by the DOE.
