BP is planning to build three offshore pipeline projects designed to move crude oil from deepwater Gulf of Mexico to coastal markets.
The 120-mi, 28- and 24-in. Caesar oil pipeline will move crude oil from the Holstein, Mad Dog and Atlantis fields in the southern Green Canyon area to Ship Shoal Block 332 by 2004.
The other lines, Proteus and Endymion, will deliver crude from the Thunder Horse (formerly Crazy Horse) fields in Mississippi Canyon blocks 776, 777 and 778 to onshore Louisiana markets by 2005.
Proteus involves building a 70-mi, 28-in. line from the Thunder Horse platform to another platform in South Pass Block 89. From there, the 90-mi, 30-in. Endymion line will deliver the oil to onshore Louisiana markets.
