The Caribbean FLNG project became the first floating LNG (FLNG) facility to undock when it left its dry dock at the Wison Offshore & Marine yard in Nantong, China, on Nov. 19. The project was delivered by Wison under an engineering, procurement, construction, installation and commissioning contract with EXMAR.
The FLNG project is made up of a non-propelled barge that will operate off the Caribbean coast of Colombia for Pacific Rubiales Energy. It is equipped to convert 72 million cubic feet per day of gas into LNG for storage and export. The project is expected to be in place by the end of second-quarter 2015.
