Kerr-McGee Corp., Nexen Inc. and Cal Dive International have chosen Williams to build a 90-mi, 18-in. gathering line to transport crude oil from the deepwater Gulf of Mexico to shallowwater systems.
Plans call for the line to run from Garden Banks Block 668 to a shallowwater platform in Galveston Block A244. There it will join ExxonMobil's Hoover oil pipeline system to deliver the crude to onshore Texas markets. A late 2003 completion is scheduled.
