Tenaska NG Fuels LLC and Waller Marine Inc. agreed to develop, build, own and operate Louisiana’s first gas liquefaction and fueling facility on the New Orleans-Baton Rouge Mississippi River corridor, with access to the Gulf of Mexico. The facility, called Tenaska Bayou LNG, has a planned location on about 80 acres at the Port of Greater Baton Rouge. The facility will provide LNG and CNG for the high-horsepower marine, transportation and gas and oil E&P industries in the region.

Tenaska will provide equity for the project and will be managing partner and commercial leader. It will also manage project development and construction, as well as gas supply and commodity risk management. Both companies will be responsible for marketing the fuels.

The facility has an expected initial production capacity of 200,000 gallons of LNG per day, with the option to expand to meet market demand. Operations are planned to begin in first-quarter 2017.
