Southern Kentucky Energy LLC (SOKY Energy) said April 25 it has completed the purchase of natural gas operations, including producing wells and midstream assets, through two separate transactions.
In the first transaction, SOKY Energy acquired gas gathering and transmission pipelines in South Central Kentucky from Houston-based Atmos Gathering Co. LLC for an undisclosed amount.
The second transaction consisted of 100 producing gas wells that are connected to the pipeline network in Warren and Butler counties, Ky. SOKY Energy purchased the wells from Pioneer Oil Co. Inc., based in Vincennes, Ind., for an undisclosed amount.
"This is a very natural fit for our company as we continue to grow and consolidate natural gas operations in the region," said Jason Sharp, SOKY Energy's president, in a statement.
The company, based in Bowling Green, Ky., plans to continue growing and optimizing its pipeline infrastructure north of its headquarters, according to the release.
SOKY Energy was provided financial support by a related company of Prairie Street Capital Inc., a specialized private equity fund out of Chicago, Ill.
