CenterPoint Energy Gas Transmission (CEGT) and Duke Energy Gas Transmission (DEGT) have announced that their Southeast Supply Header project has drawn significant interest from the market, and that they will now proceed with negotiating definitive agreements with the prospective shippers.

The Southeast Supply Header would link supply from east Texas and north Louisiana basins to growing U.S. southeast and northeast markets. It will extend some 250 mi from CEGT’s Perryville hub in northeast Louisiana to DEGT’s partially owned affiliate pipeline, Gulfstream Natural Gas System.

The companies also announced that they are proceeding toward the formation of a new joint venture for the project, and, upon completion of negotiations, will move forward with implementation. Early plans are calling for a mid-2008 completion.
