The U.S. Senate voted to confirm two members of the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC). Cheryl LaFleur was confirmed to a second term. LaFleur has been acting chairman of the FERC since November 2013, according to a statement from the FERC. Her new term will expire in 2019. She was confirmed in a 90 to 7 vote.
The Senate also confirmed Norman Bay to be an FERC member in a 52 to 45 vote, according to a statement from Sen. Martin Heinrich (D-N.M.). Bay is expected to replace LaFleur as chairman in nine months, according to a statement from Sen. Harry Reid (D-Nev.).
