Tesoro Logistics LP will build a single-distillate desulfurization unit (DDU) for converting various feedstocks into ultra-low sulfur diesel (ULSD) fuels at both its Wilmington, California, refinery as well as the adjacent Carson, California, refinery it just acquired from BP.
The refinery – dubbed “Whitetail” – would tap abundant local Eagle Ford crude, which, because of a current shortage of pipeline and rail-takeaway capacity, trades at a discount to several other crude oils.
National Property Holdings LP (NPH) plans to develop the Alamo Junction Rail Park and serve the Eagle Ford shale region's growing demand for rail-based logistics, crude oil storage and shipment and the storage and shipment of sand used in hydraulic-fracturing operations.
MC will serve as the foundation shipper for TGP’s Southwest Louisiana Supply Project, which is designed to provide transportation from various supply basins in Ohio, Pennsylvania, Texas and Louisiana to Cameron’s Interstate Pipeline.
Sunoco Logistics Partners LP (SXL) has commenced a binding open season for the Eaglebine Express pipeline, which will provide take-away capacity for the growing production of the Eaglebine and Woodbine crude areas to Nederland, Texas.
A rapid run-up in unconventional crude production and existing infrastructure that is highly underdeveloped is creating countless opportunities for energy infrastructure firms to probe North America’s transportation grid.
The risks of a $1 billion megaproject are, in many ways, like those of similar, smaller projects. Companies want to keep costs down, work with good people and contractors, keep workers safe, and hit their deadlines.
