Russian energy giant Rosneft does not intend to sell down further its holding in Saras, the Italian refiner's chairman said on April 22.
"The last time I met [Rosneft CEO Igor] Sechin, he said there was no intention to sell further stakes," Gian Marco Moratti said on the sidelines of the company's shareholder meeting.
Last year Rosneft sold a 9% stake in Saras to leave it with 12% of the refiner.
Moratti, whose family controls Saras, said the lock-up period for Rosneft after its stake sale had expired April 16.
Asked about resuming oil shipments from Iran, Dario Scaffardi, Saras' managing director, said there were still some hurdles to overcome on the banking front.
"I hope we can start in a few months," Scaffardi said.
Before sanctions were applied, Saras took regular shipments of Iranian crude.
