Robert Bryce
Robert Bryce, author and managing editor of Energy Tribune, will give the keynote speech Wind Power Isn’t ‘Green’ and Other Energy Heresies at the 89th Annual Gas Processors Association (GPA) Convention.
When asked to describe what the keynote will focus on, Jean Leger, the head of the convention’s program committee, said Bryce has a reputation for speaking freely about the energy independence concept and technologies used to promote it.
“His messaging has proposed that for the foreseeable future, the next 30 to 50 years, fossil fuels will reign supreme and that the sooner the U.S. discards the rhetoric about energy independence and accepts the reality of our interdependence, the more secure and prosperous it will be. It promises to be a thought-provoking opening to the convention,” Leger said.
The event will be held in Austin, Texas, from March 21-24 and will focus on the association’s transformation from representing the gas processing industry to the midstream as a whole as well as GPA’s advocacy efforts both locally and nationally.
Hart Energy Publishing has been endorsed by GPA to publish three daily newspapers showcasing the event. GPA 2010 Convention News will contain feature stories previewing the conference; a full conference program; a diagram of the layout of meeting facilities at the Hilton Austin; a summary of major new developments and industry trends from 2009, written by the editors of Gas Processors Report; other news, events and opinions of interest to GPA convention attendees and members; and abstracts of papers that will be presented at the convention.
Sponsorship, advertising and editorial contributions are being accepted now for GPA 2010 Convention News. For more information, contact Lesley Hart at lhart@hartenergy.com or 713-260-6462.
