Anadarko Petroleum will commission an engineering study for a liquefaction project attached to the Rovuma basin in Mozambique, according to a report from the Macahub News Agency.

The report quoted the company's vice president, Robert Daniels, as saying that the natural gas reserves in this basin are believed to be sufficient to construct up to six LNG trains. Initial plans call for the construction of two trains with a capacity for 5 million tons each. The company is planning to spend a total cost of $14 billion on the project by 2018 and has already invested $800 million.
