Pembina Pipeline Corp. entered into commercial agreements to proceed with a $170 million expansion of its recently completed Resthaven Facility—a 200 million cubic feet per day (MMcf/d) gas processing facility. Pembina plans to build, own and operate a new gas gathering pipeline that will deliver gas into the Resthaven Facility.

The expansion is underpinned by a long-term fee-for-service contract with Mosaic Energy Ltd. The gas processing part of the expansion is expected to cost about $105 million and increase the facility’s capacity by about 100 MMcf/d, bringing total capacity to 300 MMcf/d. To support the expansion, Pembina will build a $65 million, 28-kilometer (17-mile) long, 12-inch diameter gas gathering pipeline connecting the Resthaven Facility to Mosaic Energy's condensate recovery plant.

Subject to regulatory and environmental approvals, the pipeline is expected to enter service by second-quarter 2015, followed by the gas processing expansion in mid-2016.
