Delaware Basin Express LLC, wholly owned subsidiary of Western Gas Partners LP, began a nonbinding open season for a new pipeline project serving the tailgate of the Ramsey gas processing plant, the company said Sept. 1. The open season ends Sept. 30.

The transportation service running from the tailgate of Ramsey will go to downstream intrastate pipelines in the Waha area near Coyanosa, Texas. Portions of Reeves, Loving and Ward counties will be served. Additional receipt connections might be added at the tailgates of the MiVida gas processing plant and Bone Spring gas processing plant, Western Gas added.

The pipeline’s initial capacity will be about 600,000 dekatherms per day of residue gas to the Waha Hub area. This amount could increase to 1.6 million dekatherms per day with added compression.

The pipeline is scheduled to be in service by fourth-quarter 2016, pending regulatory requirements and other considerations.

Western Gas Partners LP is a midstream-focused MLP formed by Anadarko Petroleum Corp. (APC).
