Medallion Pipeline Co. LLC, a subsidiary of Medallion Midstream LLC, announced the successful close of the binding open season for the Midkiff Lateral—its proposed crude oil pipeline extension—and for the capacity expansion of its existing Wolfcamp Connector pipeline.
Based on the bids received from prospective shippers during the open season, Medallion executed long-term transportation agreements sufficient to move forward with the construction of both expansion projects. They are both expected to enter service during first-quarter 2015.
The Midkiff Lateral will extend about 40 miles from the new Midkiff station in Upton County, Texas, to the existing Garden City station, and will have a transportation capacity of about 75,000 barrels per day (bbl/d) of crude oil. Truck unloading facilities, owned and operated by Medallion Pipeline’s affiliate Medallion Crude Oil Logistics, will be adjacent to the proposed Midkiff station, to provide shippers the option to transport crude by truck to those facilities.
The Wolfcamp Connector expansion will increase pipeline capacity between the Garden City station and Colorado City hub by 30,000 bbl from the current 65,000 bbl/d of capacity to 95,000 bbl/d.
