Maxxeon Inc. introduced a cordless tool for fluorescent magnetic particle and penetrant testing. The WorkStar 2003 work light exceeds the voluntary consensus standard of 10,000 microwatts per square centimeter set by the testing and materials society ASTM International.
The light is primarily meant for use by nondestructive testing technicians but can also be used to locate leaks in air conditioning, coolant and hydraulic systems by fluorescing the dye in the system and to locate leaks in filters in bag plant operations by fluorescing the ultraviolet reflective particles.
