MPLX LP subsidiary Marathon Pipe Line LLC completed a successful open season for the expansion of the Patoka, Ill., to Lima, Ohio, crude oil pipeline system. MLP has the necessary support to continue development and begin construction of the expansion to accommodate the committed volumes, Marathon Pipe Line said in a statement.
The project will expand the current system capacity by 18,000 barrels per day of light equivalent crude oil capacity. The expansion involves construction of two new pump stations and the injection of flow improver to optimize hydraulic performance of the pipeline system. The expansion has an expected in-service date in late 2016.
