Magellan Midstream Partners LP extended the open season for commitments on its proposed Saddlehorn Pipeline, the company said in a statement. The pipeline would transport various grades of crude oil from the Niobrara Shale to Magellan Midstream’s storage facilities in Cushing, Okla. Binding commitments are due by 5 p.m. Central time on Nov. 6.
The proposed Saddlehorn Pipeline includes construction of about 600 miles of 20-inch diameter pipeline extending from Platteville, Colo., to Cushing. It has a planned transport capacity of up to 400,000 barrels per day of crude. Magellan expects to use its existing right-of-way for much of the pipeline route.
Subject to sufficient shippers commitments and receipt of necessary permits and regulatory approvals, the pipeline could be operational during second-quarter 2016.
