JBBR Pipeline LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of CenterPoint Properties, announced the commencement of a binding open season to solicit long-term volume commitments from customers for interstate common carrier transport service on a new crude oil pipeline system. The open season is for up to 90% of the capacity on the planned 20-inch diameter, 4-mile crude pipeline.
The pipeline will provide transport service from a planned crude-by-rail offloading terminal facility to be built, owned and operated by Joliet Bulk, Barge & Rail LLC in Joliet, Ill., to an interconnection with Mobil Pipe Line Co.’s Mokena-to-Joliet Pipeline. From there, shippers will have direct access to ExxonMobil Corp.’s Joliet Refinery. Its current design allows for transport of up to 210,000 barrels of crude oil per day. It is expected to enter service by Jan. 31, 2015. The open season began at 8 a.m. Central time on Oct. 23 and will close at 5 p.m. Central time on Nov. 21.
