Inergy Midstream, a subsidiary of Inergy LP, signed a definitive agreement to acquire the Seneca Lake natural gas storage facility along with two related pipelines near Watkins Glen, N.Y., from New York State Electric & Gas Corp. for US$65 million.

The facility has a storage capacity of about 2 billion cubic feet with a maximum withdrawal capability of 145 million cubic feet per day (MMcf/d) and a maximum injection capability of 75 MMcf/d.

The two pipelines included in the agreement, which is expected to close by mid-year, are the 20-mile Seneca West Pipeline that connects to the Dominion Transmission System and the 37.5-mile Seneca East Pipeline, which connects to the Millennium Pipeline. – Frank Nieto
