IGS Energy agreed to acquire Border Energy, a retail natural gas and electricity supplier based in Powell, Ohio. The transaction for the gas business was effective Aug. 31, and the power business will be effective Sept. 30, upon Federal Energy Regulatory Commission approval.
The acquisition will add about 70,000 customers in Indiana, Michigan and Ohio to IGS Energy’s customer base. IGS Energy will honor all of Border Energy’s existing contracts.
