Dredging service company Great Lakes Dredge & Dock Corp. received a contract to dredge and slope two LNG carrier ship berths for Corpus Christi Liquefaction LLC (CCL), the company said Sept. 28.

CCL, a subsidiary of Houston-based Cheniere Energy Inc., is developing an LNG export terminal at a site on the north shore of Corpus Christi Bay in San Patricio and Nueces counties, Texas.

Work is scheduled to begin in the fourth quarter of 2015, Great Lakes added.

The company will also dredge a material offloading and tug-mooring basin and expand an existing La Quinta Channel turning basin. About 4.3 million cubic yards will be dredged.

Great Lakes Dredge & Dock Corp. is based in Oak Brook, Ill.
