W&T Offshore appointed John D. Buchanan to its board of directors effective April 8, bringing the board’s size to six members.
Buchanan has more than 30 years of experience as an oil and gas, commercial and banking attorney. He has served various legal roles, including chief legal officer, general counsel and corporate secretary at several S&P 500 companies.
Buchanan most recently served as an assistant general counsel at Exxon Mobil from February 2023 to March 2024. His responsibilities included handling corporate, regulatory reporting, compliance and securities matters for the holding company and its subsidiaries.
Buchanan will stand for election in the company’s annual meeting of shareholders.
