Camelback Midstream Holdings LLC received funding on April 20 from ArcLight Capital Partners LLC to pursue its strategy to acquire and organically develop midstream infrastructure.
In a release, the recently formed independent energy infrastructure logistics company said an ArcLight Capital Partners managed fund provided a capital commitment alongside its management team of $400 million.
Dan Revers, ArcLight’s founder and managing partner, said the investment firm is pleased to partner with Camelback Midstream, adding: “particularly in today’s market.”
“The management team includes recognized leaders in midstream infrastructure with a deep relationship network and outstanding reputations,” Revers said in a statement. “We look forward to supporting the Camelback Midstream team as they pursue opportunities in what we believe will be a compelling acquisition environment for newly-formed, well-capitalized midstream companies.”
Camelback Midstream CEO Brent McCune and the remainder of the management team—Gary Wright, Todd Stanley, Tiffany Smith, Leonard Bloom and Rebecca Peterson—previously worked together at Western Refining Logistics. The group later continued on at Andeavor Logistics LP following Western’s merger with Andeavor in 2017.
Together, the Camelback Midstream management team has more than 110 years of combined energy industry experience, including the execution of $5 billion in M&A, $750 million in organic logistics projects and over $600 million of capital investments in large JV projects, according to a release from the company.
At Camelback Midstream, the group plans to focus on midstream infrastructure and services necessary to transport, gather, store and market hydrocarbons from the wellhead to market.
In a statement commenting on the ArcLight commitment, CEO McCune said: “We look forward to building Camelback Midstream with a focus on targeted regions where we see opportunity and have strong relationships and a history of success. ... We are excited to have an experienced infrastructure investor like ArcLight as our partner as we evaluate potential acquisition and investment opportunities in this rapidly evolving midstream landscape.”
Camelback Midstream is based in Scottsdale, Ariz., with an additional office in Houston. The company received legal advice on the ArcLight capital commitment from Vinson & Elkins LLP.
