Enterprise Products Partners LP will build its recently announced ethane export facility on the Houston Ship Channel. Enterprise signed a 30-year agreement with the Port of Houston Authority for the use of facilities adjacent to its existing Morgan’s Point terminal.
Enterprise also plans to build a pipeline from its Mont Belvieu, Texas, NGL fractionation and storage complex to provide direct access to ethane supply. The export terminal is designed with the capability to load fully refrigerated ethane at about 10,000 barrels per hour. The facility is expected to begin operations in third-quarter 2016 and already has long-term contracts in place.
