Energy Transfer Partners LP (NYSE: ETP) launched a binding open season on May 15 for Permian Express 3, a project with expected initial capacity of up to 100,000 barrels per day (Mbbl/d) of crude oil from the Permian Basin to multiple markets.
Permian Express 3 is expected to go into service in fourth-quarter 2017 and will ultimately have a capacity of up to 300 Mbbl/d.
The initial phase will provide Midland Basin producers with takeaway capacity to the Nederland, Texas, market. Future phases will transport oil from the Delaware Basin to multiple markets.
