Private equity firm EnCap Flatrock Midstream expanded its presence by opening an office in downtown Houston. The new location places the firm in close proximity to many important investors, oil and gas producers and some of EnCap Flatrock’s own portfolio companies. EnCap Flatrock is based in San Antonio and has an additional office in Oklahoma City.
EnCap Flatrock’s Houston team is led by managing director Sam Pitts, who joined EnCap Flatrock in 2014 after several years as an investment banker. During his investment-banking career, Pitts advised on more than $50 billion of transactions and represented issuers in more than $15 billion of securities offerings. Before joining EnCap Flatrock, he served for four years as a member of the senior leadership team in Citigroup’s Global Energy Investment Banking Group. In this capacity, he focused on financial advisory work related to mergers, acquisitions and divestitures within the midstream and upstream sectors as well as public and private capital market raises. Before joining Citigroup, he was with UBS Investment Bank and its predecessor company, Dillon Read & Co.
