El Paso Energy Partners LP plans to build a U.S. $450 million, 380-mi pipeline to deliver crude oil from the Gulf of Mexico to refiners along the Texas Gulf Coast.

Plans call for the Cameron Highway Oil Pipeline System to deliver up to 500,000 b/d of gas from the southern Green Canyon and western Gulf of Mexico areas to Port Arthur, Texas, and Texas City, Texas.

Originating at El Paso's Ship Shoal 332 platform, the line extends with 30-in. pipe to an El Paso platform in the western Gulf of Mexico. From there, it will run to another facility in the High Island Addition area.

From High Island, the system will proceed with two 24-in. lines - one extending north to Port Arthur and another to Texas City. Construction is expected to begin this spring. A 2004 completion is planned.
