Marathon Pipe Line LLC and Ohio River Pipe Line LLC, said March 13 that the binding open season on the Cornerstone Pipeline and other associated Utica Shale build-out projects was extended.

The extension was granted to allow time to finalize transportation service agreements. The open season will now end April 13 instead of March 13, the companies added

Cornerstone will deliver condensate, natural gas, diluent and butane to Marathon Petroleum Corp.’s Canton, Ohio, refinery from Harrison County, Ohio.

The materials will also go to Ohio River Pipeline’s tank farm in East Sparta, Ohio. The materials at the East Sparta tank farm will go to additional markets via the Utica buildout projects, which include new construction and utilization of existing pipelines. These projects connect many Midwestern refineries to the Utica Shale and can reach Chicago refineries and pipelines that supply diluent to Western Canada.

The projects are scheduled to be in service in mid-2017, the companies said.

Marathon Pipe Line LLC and Ohio River Pipe Line LLC are subsidiaries of MPLX LP (NYSE: MPLX), a midstream partnership formed by Marathon Petroleum Corp. (NYSE: MPC). MPLX is based in Findlay, Ohio.
