BridgeTex Pipeline Co. LLC extended its open season to assess additional customer interest in a new origin in Grimes County, Texas, for the BridgeTex Pipeline to accept Eaglebine crude oil and condensate shipments, Magellan Midstream Partners LP and Plains All American Pipeline LP said Feb. 2.
Magellan and Plains each hold 50% ownership of the pipeline.
The pipeline currently delivers 300,000 barrels per day (bbl/d) of Permian Basin crude oil from Colorado City, Texas, to the Houston Gulf Coast area. BridgeTex could expand to 35Mbbl/d capacity from the Grimes County origin point, which is scheduled to be operational by mid-2017.
Magellan and Plains said enough commitments have been received for the project to proceed, but binding commitments are now due by Feb. 15.
Magellan Midstream Partners LP is based in Tulsa, Okla. Plains All American Pipeline LP is based in Houston.
