Magellan Midstream Partners LP and Occidental Petroleum Corp. announced on July 9 that BridgeTex Pipeline launched a supplemental open season for additional transportation commitments on the pipeline. The deadline for interested customers to submit binding commitments is Aug. 7, 2014, by 5 p.m. Central Standard Time.
Construction of the pipeline began in November 2012 and is now in the final stages. Once complete, the pipeline will be capable of transporting up to 300,000 barrels per day of Permian Basin crude oil from Colorado City, Texas, to the Houston Gulf Coast area. Service is expected to commence by the middle of third-quarter 2014.
