Boardwalk Pipeline Partners reports that its subsidiary, Gulf South Pipeline Co., has signed long-term binding precedent agreements with customers that will facilitate construction of its East Texas and Mississippi expansion projects. Total cost for the 1 Bcf expansion is expected to be approximately $575 million, and the new capacity is expected to be in-service during the second half of 2007.

The East Texas expansion will extend from Carthage in East Texas to the Perryville area in Richland Parish, Louisiana. This project will consist of approximately 140 mi of 36-in. looping, 40 mi of 36-in. pipeline replacement, compression and other ancillary facilities. The proposed in-service date is June 2007.?

The Mississippi expansion will take gas from North Louisiana and deliver up to 1 Bcf per day of gas to markets currently connected to Gulf South in Mississippi such as Transco, Zone 4 and FGT, Zone 3. The project will consist of approximately 40 mi of 36 or 42-in. pipeline replacement, and 46 mi of new pipeline construction. It is proposed to be in service in August 2007.
