Belle Fourche Pipeline Co. and Bridger Pipeline LLC will hold an open season in January to obtain volume commitments to support expansions of their common carrier crude pipeline systems, the companies said in a statement. The proposed expansions would substantially increase the pipelines’ capacity to transport crude oil from the Bakken and the Powder River Basin to Guernsey, Wyo. The pipelines are coordinating their expansions to coincide with the expansion of another pipeline, together offering joint transportation service to Cushing, Okla. The final capacity added during the expansion is dependent on commitments received during the open season.
Shippers that make long-term volume commitments to the pipelines will be eligible to receive discounted transportation rates for their committed volumes. A firm service option will also be available for commitments on certain portions of the pipelines. The pipelines will offer producers in the Bakken and Powder River Basin multiple origin points for transportation to Guernsey and Cushing through a joint tariff.
