Bechtel and Linde were awarded a contract to design and build an ethylene plant at ExxonMobil’s Baytown Complex east of Houston, Texas. The plant will have a capacity of 1.55 million tons of ethylene per year, and will be one of the world’s largest ethylene plants. Design and procurement of equipment are already underway and construction will begin immediately.
Linde is responsible for engineering, procurement and services during pre-commissioning and commissioning of the facility. Bechtel is responsible for the facility’s construction and related procurement.
