Azbil Corp. received an order from Japan Marine United Corp. for the integrated automation system of LNG carriers to be deployed for a U.S. shale gas LNG project, the company said in a statement. The LNG carrier will transport LNG mainly from the U.S. as part of the Cove Point project in Maryland.

The carrier will include a tri-fuel diesel electric propulsion system, which can use low-sulfur oil as a fuel in compliance with U.S. coastal environmental regulations. It also includes a heat-insulated tank with a low natural gas boil-off rate.

Azbil Corp. will deliver its Marine-DEO integrated automation system for the carrier. The system is designed to monitor and control the cargo tank containment system, cargo handling equipment and gas supply system to diesel generator engines in the TFDE system. It will also supply power to the electric propulsion system. Additionally, Azbil Corp. will also provide engineering assistance and trial run support for the system.
